Sharing the love

This last week has been a very icky week. Boston started off this wonderful week by getting a very high fever (104.7) on Monday. We assumed it was teething. It only lasted a couple of days and he only threw up a couple of times. That was not fun. Boston was feeling tons better by Thursday except for that he kept grabbing his diaper like he was in pain. Denise took him to the doctor thinking he had a bladder infection. Well, to test for the infection they have to take a urine sample. Have you ever got a 1 1/2 year old to urinate when you need them to? It was impossible. Boston was determined that he wasn't going to go in the little bag that he made us wait 3 HOURS till he finally went double duty in the bag and on the floor. What a mess!! But it turned out Boston didn't have an infection. We changed the diaper cream and he's doing tons better.... well Boston was at least. On Saturday Boston shared the love with his mom and she got sick BAD. Then Grandma Robin got sick, Grandpa Rich, Grandma Diane, Chad, and Great Grandma LaNile. Hopefully no one else will get this bug. Cody was a saint to take care of everyone and watch Boston.
Enough about that. We are now within a week of closing on our houses in Logan and Tooele. We are so excited! We went to Home Depot today and bought the paint so we can paint the inside before we moved in. We ended up getting a free 5 gallon bucket of paint. Well it happened on accident. They were tinting a 5 gallon bucket of paint that we already had to make it a darker tan and they ended up turning it pink. Not a cute color for a living room. So they gave us a free 5 gallon bucket of the exact color we wanted. Lucky us!

Exciting Week for the Valdez Family

What a crazy week for us! The week started off on a very good note!!! On Monday afternoon, we received on offer on our home in Logan. This was somewhat expected from what we had heard ove rthe weekend. WE WERE SO EXCITED! We had thought all along that our home was going to sell quicker than it has and so this was a huge relief! This started a huge snowball of events for this week. We immediately contacted our realtor here in Tooele and notified the seller of our home here that we were ready to begin the closing process. After the dust settled from all of the paperwork being emailed and faxed back ond forth for three days, we have signed contracts on both sides and we have a closing date for both sales set for June 1. WOW, we are so excited!!!

In addition to all of the home selling, we had a busy week of sports. On Monday night, Cody had a softball game with his men's league team. The team finally broke through and had a great hitting game. They ended up winning big and scoring nearly twice as many runs in that one game as they had in the previous four games combined.

Cody and Denise had a double header for their wednesday night coed softball league games this week. The team once again played very well and came away with two wins on the evening. The team is now 5-0! That is a big surprise to most people on the team. Everyone on the team has played well together and I think that we have done so well because we are all there to have fun. We want to win, but it is more important for us to have fun and we all get along so well. It has really been a lot of fun for all involved!

To close off the week, we went to the Utah Jazz game friday night. We were hoping for a much better result, but it was nice to see them try so hard to come back in the end. They had a great year, but just couldn't pull it all together in the series with the Lakers. I hope that they work hard in the offseason and come back ready for a great season next year.

Welcome to our blog!

We finally decided to start a blog for our family. LOTS of stuff have been going on lately. Cody and I are playing softball. Cody plays on a mens team on Monday nights and we play on a co-ed team together on Wednesdays. We have a lot of fun playing together. Hopefully this week the weather will be nice enough for Boston to come and watch us. We both have been very busy with our jobs. Cody's been working at the high school teaching drafting and architecture and he also got a part-time job at Utah Fabrications as a draftsman. So all of that combined with softball, finding some time to golf, and spending time with the family, Cody has been a little crazy. Denise started working Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at Waves and stays home the rest of the week with Boston. Add on top of that, the Red Sox are in full swing and leading the AL East, we keep very busy!

We have definitely enjoyed living in Tooele. We loved Logan but we were never able to do anything with friends and our family. Now that we are here we have all definitely found lots of things to occupy our time. We think Boston loves being here, too. He gets TONS of attention from all his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Being the only grandchild he gets spoiled big time! It's hard to not though because he is just so dang cute! Ever since he was able to stand up he has been our little jumper. Now that he's a little older he's found the joy of the trampoline. Now he won't get off of it. He loves jumping and being bounced. He just laughs and laughs. He is definitely a boy! It takes a lot to make him cry even if he crashes and burns.

Our INTENT is to keep this updated once a week so you can all stay informed of what's going on in our lives. If you would like to leave us a quick note, click on the message link below.
